We all know that the holidays can be stressful. Between all the family dinners, office deadlines, and parties you have to attend between Christmas and New years, you really could use a vacation away from it all, couldn’t you?

This is where All-Star Rent-a-Van comes in. Why not gather a few of your favorite people and head to Las Vegas for a little stress relieving weekend!

Step 1: Drive San Diego To Las Vegas

Vegas is just 330 miles from San Diego. Which means you can get there in just under 5 hours. However, since we all know the joys of traffic around southern California are, try and get out before the 5pm work rush. This will save you some time sitting in traffic! Luckily Las Vegas is 24/7 though, so even if you arrive at midnight, there is still plenty of things you can do in the city that never sleeps. And since there will be traffic on the way home too, you and your friends can take turns on who drives and who naps!  This is the wonderful thing about renting a van. They are comfortable and you have enough people to share the driving with.

Step 2: Check In To Your Hotel

If you can, book your hotel beforehand, it will take the stress out of having to drive around and find one. However, if you’re adventurous, go for it! There is definitely no shortage of hotels to stay at in Las Vegas. Try and stay walking distance to the strip, or on the strip. It may be more expensive up front, but if your whole group wants to drink, you’ll be making up for the price difference in taxi prices. They are not cheap out there. In fact, it is a well known ‘secret’ that it is actually cheaper to rent a vehicle in Las Vegas for 1 day than it is to take the 10-minute cab ride from the airport to town. So be happy that you already have your van rented, and avoid taking a cab at all cost.

Step 3: Put On Your Comfy Walking Shoes

You may not realize it at first, but you are about to do a whole lot of walking! The strip is approximately 4.2 miles (6.8 km), but you’ll do plenty more walking than that. Las Vegas is exciting, you’re going to walk in a million different directions, and not to mention around each casino, hotel, restaurant, and attraction you want to explore. The best part about all this walking is, you never have to worry about the number of drinks your consuming, or all those buffets you’ve been getting 2nds and 3rds at!

Step 4: Eat, Drink, Gamble, Watch Shows, Explore, and Be Merry

Now that you’re ready to take on Las Vegas, go for it! The buffets in Vegas are world famous, so don’t hold back. You’re going to need the energy from the food for all the walking anyways. While you’re in Las Vegas, why not throw a quarter in that slot machine and see how you do? Maybe you can win your trip. However, please gamble responsibly, usually, the house wins! But if you’re going in just to have some laughs with friends, you’ll do great. And if you’ve got the time, find a show that is happening during your stay. Whether it’s the Blue Man Group, Cher, Carlos Santana, Cirque Du Soleil, or one of the other thousand amazing acts that happen there. It is definitely worth catching at least one.
