Family Easter Activities

Decorate Your Own Easter Baskets

To get ready for the Easter Bunny, nothing is better than having your own personalized basket to collect all the goodies. Head to your local dollar store and pick up a couple of plain baskets.

To decorate the Easter baskets pick up a few of the following:

  • Stickers
  • Ribbons
  • Fake Flowers
  • Fake grass
  • Fuzzy Balls for Bunny Tails
  • Markers
  • Glue

And anything else you may think you need.

Egg Painting

Egg painting is a blast with the family and it is very easy to do. First, make sure you have the following items:

  • White Eggs
  • Saucepan
  • Food Coloring
  • Vinegar
  • Empty Egg Carton

Start by hard boiling your eggs. If you can, prepare them the night before, therefore there is no waiting.

Fill a few different cups or bowls with 1 teaspoon vinegar, 1 teaspoon food coloring, and halfway with hot water.

If you are going for a solid color, you can leave your egg in the water for a few minutes. Alternatively, you can mark the egg up with a white crayon, and those areas will not be dyed.

After your eggs are dry, you can use regular paint or stickers to design your eggs even further.

Easter Egg Hunt

The easter egg hunt is probably one of the biggest staples when it comes to family activities during the Easter holidays. Kids wait with the utmost anticipation for the morning when they can run around the house and yard finding all the treats that the Easter Bunny has left for them to find.

Egg and Spoon Race

Once everyone has found their Easter goodies, you spend the rest of the afternoon playing some games, like the egg and spoon race.

Break out into teams and give each person that is in the front of the line a spoon and an egg.

Each person has to run to the end of the race track and back with the spoon in their mouth, and the egg in the spoon, without dropping it!

Plant Flowers

This is the perfect time of year to get your seedlings going. Even if it’s still too cold outside, you can start a few pods inside, so once the weather gets warmer, you can plant them and have a beautiful garden.

Planting a garden with your children is not only a bonding activity, but it also teaches your kids responsibility and gives them something to be proud of when the flowers bloom.

Create Easter Crafts

If your kids enjoy crafts, this is the most fun time of year to make adorable creations. If you take a quick look on Pinterest or the Crayola website.

There are crafts for every age every out there.
